Cognac shares rose last year on the Stock Exchange : Pernod Ricard (Martell) progressed by 18.05% to 174 euros and Rémy-Cointreau (Rémy-Martin cognac) by +22.5% to 49 euros.

« Hpnotiq », the blue liqueur made with cognac, which has been produced in the Charente since it was launched in 2000 by Gilles Merlet, is an outstanding success : sales have risen from 165,000 cases in the first year to 835,000 today. The brand was sold in 2001 to Heaven’s Hill Distillery, the world’s second-largest producer of bourbon.
